The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, (PCG) Rt Rev Prof Cephas Narh Omenyo has inaugurated the Information Communication Technology (ICT) Advisory Team to support the ICT Unit of the Church.

The inauguration was held on Monday 1st May 2017 at the Mini-Conference room at the Head Office of PCG.

The ICT Advisory Team among other things will help management of the Church make informed decision on the use of available ICT resources to advance the mission of the Church.

The terms of reference of the Advisory Team include but not limited to; -Advice the Church on ICT policy direction and optimum utilization of the PCG’s IT systems -Develop an ICT Policy for the Church.

The policy should cover issues such as

a.ICT Procurements and Standardization

b. Network Security

c. Information and Content Management - website, apps, social media handles

d. Source for/create a networked Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system for the Church with simple interfaces that can be used by Congregations with limited web access.

e. Database Management (records, archives)

f. Training

g. Offer a consultancy role to the Principal Officers of the Church on the Policy implementation The membership of the Board include; Rev Ben Antwi Ofori, District Minister for Djankrom and ICT Specialist, Mr Kwaku Damoah, Data Scientist, Michael Odame- Dankwah, ICT Specialist and Mr Francis Doku, Communication Specialist.

Other members are Mr Joseph Addo, Graphic Designer and ICT, Mrs Lydia Nyantakyi-Baah, Librarian, Rev Ezekiel George Larbi, Journalist and Public Relations Officer of PCG, and Rev Desmond Nai, ICT Officer of PCG. Inaugurating the team, the Moderator, Rt Rev Prof Omenyo charged members to use their various expertises to advance the mission, vision and the core values of the Church.

The chairman of the team Rev Ben Antwi Ofori thanked the Church for the confidence reposed in them and pledged that they would work hard to achieve the objective of which they were appointed.
